Playa dreamin'...
Burningman is over and I'm back in reality. It's always hard to leave home and for most burners depression sets in soon after. It's a common sadness we all share. The burner loss... Much of my days are just a blur, a crazy dream of happiness.
"Nobody said it was easy
Oh its such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said that it would be this hard
Oh take me back to the start"

I met up with my fellow campers at a Denny's just outside of Sacramento. We were an eclectic bunch of people, Michele, Rob, Chris, Ryan, Amanda, Daryl, and me... A funky bunch of burners to be... As we sat in Denny's eating our last hot meal together, my thoughts raced. I knew this was going to be an experience I would remember for the rest of my life and my brain couldn't begin to comprehend the possibilities of what was about to take place. I knew what burningman was about, this was going to be my 5th year, yet I was like a little kid going to Disneyland for the first time. This year was going to be entirely different from the previous 4. As the sun started to rise, we on our way again. Playa or bust and as we drove into Black Rock city it all came back to me once I heard, "welcome home!" It's true... Home is where the heart is... and I was home. Once our placer, Gomonk, showed us to our little slice of heaven, we went straight to work. Kitchen and tents were up first. The settlers had settled and the drinking commenced! Saturday night was interesting. Unfortunately it left me with many injuries, but none of that mattered. I was home and I was happy.
