Lush and Anomaly hold the Bad Hatters tea party one more night and the rest of camp beg the people passing by and our neighbors to "drink our alcohol so we don't have to." That was fun. Saturday's burn was pretty spectacular, as always. We watched the fire performers play and it was all amazing. Fire is good.
Earlier in the week, during Michele's ritual we were given a piece of paper and told to write that which we no longer wanted to carry with us, whether it be emotional or physical, pain, trait or burden and put it in a box so it could be burned with the man. As the man went up into flames Rob ran into the crowd with our little box of woes and threw it into the fire. While he was lost in the crown Pink Floyd's Two Suns in the Sunset came to mind and the last bit of the song echoes in my head still...
"And as the windshield melts
My tears evaporate
Leaving only charcoal to defend
Finally I understand
The feelings of the few
Ashes and diamonds
Foe and friend
We were all equal in the end"
